Well, first off, welcome to my blog. My name is Jonathon Bade and I am a public land outdoorsman. I have been hunting and fishing here in Montana for the past five years. I am about to depart the Air Force after 11 years, so far I have been working on starting an online fly shop. I have a video series on YouTube about fly tying, if you are interested the channel name is On The Water Flies. I came up with the name The Gringo Outdoorsman since my wife is from Mexico City, Mexico and has been here for about four years now. She tends to call me her gringo. We both love it here in Montana and don't see any reason to leave (yes, she loves the cold weather lol).
For hunting, I use a Thompson Center 300 win mag rifle with a 180 grain bullet from federal ammunition with the trophy copper tip. I have a Nikon Prostaff scope on it, BDC reticle and up to 18X zoom. Most of my camouflage that I use is Sitka gear. Last year my wife got me a PSE DrivER compound bow for our anniversary, I was able to harvest my first deer with a bow.
